Robert T. Digilio, 76, Of Poughkeepsie

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Robert T. Digilio, a resident of Poughkeepsie, died Wednesday, July 20. He was 76.

Born Feb. 19, 1940, in Poughkeepsie, he was the son of the late Frank R. and Rose Grittlow Digilio.

He was a 1958 graduate of Poughkeepsie High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Berlin Crisis. On April 17, 1960, he married Sandra L. Starzyk at St. Joseph's Church in Poughkeepsie; she survives him at home.

He was the manager of design at Automatic Systems Developers in Poughkeepsie, retiring in 2001. As well as being a member of St. Joseph's Church, he was a member of the NRA and the D.C. Pistol Association. Family, faith and country were the most important things to him.

He is survived by his wife Sandra; daughter and son-in-law Debbie and Chauncey Maggiacomo of Salt Point, son and daughter-in-law Robert and Mary Digilio of Newburgh, son Kevin T. Digilio of Montreal, son Mark B. Digilio of Poughkeepsie and daughter and son-in-law Michelle L. and George J. Tortarella III of Wildwood Crest, N.J. Also surviving is his brother and sister-in-law Frank S. and Mary Digilio of Boca Raton, Fla.; grandchildren, Derrik, Heather, Robert, Robert J., Danielle, Nicholas A., Michaela, Logan (Roland), Nicholas Frank Charles, Zachary Paulo, Kira, Shayla M., Mia Rose and Joseph Frank; great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Savanna, Maximus and Ava Lee; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the William G. Miller & Son Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph's Church, Lafayette Place, Poughkeepsie. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
